Maritza CamposPROGRAM COORDINATOR I
Maritza Campos currently serves as a Program Coordinator I with the Immigration Advocacy team. In her current role, she works with community health workers to deliver outreach on Know Your Rights and local immigration resources at our community health centers, as well as to our broader community residing in Santa Clara County. Since joining CHP, Maritza has developed her passion for immigrant health and well-being.
Maritza is a first-generation and college transfer student, who graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry, and a minor in Chicano/a Studies. During her time at community college, Maritza worked full-time as a pharmacy technician and immunizer. After transferring, Maritza led the UCLA Latinx/Chicanx for Community Medicine student organization where her interest for medicine and community-engagement flourished. Maritza volunteered to take vitals at free student-run health clinics in medically underserved areas, door-knocked for My Vote My Health in predominantly Hispanic neighborhoods with low-voter engagement, and studied public health efforts abroad in Oaxaca, Mexico.
