Elena Olsvold, Community Health Worker

Elena has been a Community Health Worker in San Benito and Santa Clara Counties with EWC since 2008. Her ability to reach out to woman, and her passion for the Every Woman Counts Program, makes her job gratifying. Connecting to women at outreach events and educational classes on Breast and Cervical Cancer means a lot to her. She also connects with women she follows up with for Navigation Assistance. This phone conversation gives her an opportunity to reach out to women, and inform them about the program more effectively. Her greatest satisfaction is to help the uninsured and to know that every woman that she speaks with will have the opportunity to take advantage of this amazing program. She believes it is necessary to connect with the community, to get to know them, and understand their needs. As a mom and a wife, she is always trying to balance her passion for what she does and her family.
